Hello, my name is Scott Nesvold. I moved up to Bayfield, WI in 1996. I was lured to the area joining some friends doing kayak trips in the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior.
For 18 years I worked at Trek & Trail as manager, head kayak guide, dog sledding guide, etc… I think I did just about almost every job in the company at one time or another. Toward the end of my stay at Trek & Trail, it became a more seasonal position. Therefore in the winter I needed to make some money, so I did some substitute teaching, and gradually developed a website business.
How it all started
My first introduction to web design was working for a small company in Bayfield, WI in the late 90’s. I was a manager at this business and the web maintenance person was terrible at spelling and grammer. That meant my first tries were just doing small edits, to fix this. Eventually this employee left, and by then I took over the maintenance of the website.
Then around 2010, a friend of mine asked me if I could help with a school reunion website. This developed into rebuilding their reunion website, and maintaining it for two different reunions. This friend also ran a housing authority at the time, so I did a website for her business. She then referred me to other housing authorities in the district, so I starting doing more. This eventually snowballed into many website projects.
